Bread from a cast iron pot

Delicious and crunchy homemade bread. The bread acquires a crispy crust during baking, and the long rising time makes the bread fluffy and, above all, tasty.

Ingredients and quantities

7 dl wheat flour
1 teaspoon of salt
4 g of fresh yeast or 1/2 teaspoon of dry yeast
3 1/2 dl of water

Preparation process

Mix lukewarm water with the other ingredients in a bowl. Cover tightly and let rise for 12-24 hours.

Before baking, turn the dough out onto a floured table and turn it over twice, do not knead it. Sprinkle the surface with a little flour and cover with a towel. Place the kettle in a cold oven and heat the oven to 225 degrees. When the dough has risen for about 30 minutes, remove the pan from the oven and brush the inside lightly with canola oil.

Put the dough in a hot pot and cover with a lid. Bake for 30 min. Remove the lid and bake for approx. 15 min. or until the surface acquires a beautiful color. Remove the bread from the pan and let it cool before serving.

Enjoy your homemade bread!
